DRUMMONDVILLE, QC — Philipe Lefebvre netted a hat trick to lead the Drummondville Voltigeurs to a 7-0 victory over the Lewiston MAINEiacs Sunday evening at the Marcel Dionne Centre. Despite the loss, the MAINEiacs clinched the 16th and final playoff spot in the QMJHL, as Baie-Comeau lost to Quebec 8-0. Both Lewiston and Baie-Comeau finished with 49 points in the standings, but the MAINEiacs held the tiebreaker with more wins.
Drummondville’s Sean Couturier scored his 41st goal of the season in the first period tying him with Moncton’s Nicholas Deschamps for the league’s scoring title with 96 points. Lewiston was outshot in the contest 40-15. The MAINEiacs finish regular season with a record of 23-42-0-3. For a complete game recap CLICK HERE
